Bristol Foods News

It’s all revolving doors in Bristol this month with plenty of openings as well as closings.

Pudding Club is back!

I’ve pulled my finger out and have sorted out a Halloween Pudding Club! Menu TBC but expect plenty of silly, spooky goings on, cocktails and a DJ. Tickets can be found here!

Pear Cafe To Close Its Doors

After 12.5 years, renowned foodie Elly Curshen is closing the doors to her cafe in Stokes Croft. Happily, it looks like Elly has a few new things up her sleeve so it won’t be the last we see of her and her fab cooking in Bristol.

Reel Soul is open!

After standing sad and empty for 6 months, Soul Fish on Gloucester Road has reopened as Reel Soul, the third opening from the team behind Cafe Ronack and Homebites. I’ve not made it down yet but I am sure the food will be as great as ever

The Coconut Tree to open on Cheltenham Road

On the same stretch of road, the sadly defunct Edit is reopening as a Sri Lankan restaurant called The Coconut Tree who have two other sites in Oxford and Cheltenham. I’ll be interested to see how they get on and look forward to heading to the preopening party to try some gems!

Tsukemono is back at The Volly

I love Tsukemono despite not being the most knowledgeable about Japanese food, but I know a good Okonomiyaki when I eat one! Serving their take on katsu curries, incredible pickled nibbles and their new bento bowls, you better get down asap to try it before it’s gone!

Foozie has closed its doors

And finally, bonkers Food and Booze event creators Foozie have decided to shut up shop after 3.5 years. Thom, the owner has cited a quiet summer part of the reason behind the decision and I wish him the best in his new venture, whatever it may be.
