The Rose of Denmark Has Reopened!

After the quick and so far unexplained closure of one of Hotwells best-loved pubs the Rose of Denmark has reopened under new management.

With The Rose of Denmark being the perfect, welcoming bolt hole when exploring the Harbour, heading back from a traipse around Leigh Woods or just as a decent local, the sadness was felt in the hearts of many a Bristolian.

Lucky for us that can see the charm and need of a decent boozer in that neck of the woods, Mike Coe, formally of author favourite The Bank Tavern,  has managed to take over the pub and re-opened last Friday.

Speaking to Mike he said;

I want to keep a traditional pub vibe while making feel like a home from home. This pub is for anyone and everyone, all are welcome including pets!

We will also be introducing a wide range of wines and spirits, keeping as much of the stock as local as possible. Look out for Espensen spirit, Bristol gin, Cotswold spirits, and brand new wine selection being introduced.  Regarding the food, the route I’m taking will be different.  Sunday lunches will be back including a vegan option whilst the lunch and evening menu will be no longer. We plan to keep it simple with pies, crusty rolls, and a proper ploughman’s. We hope food to be rolled out in mid-September, and keep your eye out for the odd kitchen pop up too!

Mike intends to keep three real ales on rotation and a range of lagers, ciders and Guinness. There will be a weekly quiz night and acoustic nights planned and booked in the near future too.
